Honestly, Christmas is basically like my favorite holiday ever and it always goes by entirely too fast. If you’re like me, there’s always a little bit of an after Christmas slump you find yourself in the week or two following Christmas. Here’s a few tips for beating those post Christmas blues that have tremendously helped me!
- Get yourself looking cute. You got tons of new make-up, clothes, bags, etc so now is the time to rock them daily, before all our #instahubs go back to work and aren’t around to take OOTD pics! Dolling yourself up can really help make you feel better about yourself and life in general I promise you! Nothing like a little self-care!
- Shop those Sales! Seriously the weeks following Christmas are so full of some of the greatest sales of the year, prices much better than Black Friday or cyber Monday and TONS of extra %’s off clearance make this the time to shop all your favorite stores to stock up for the year to come. Some of my favorite stores to shop this month are: Express, Loft, Old Navy, Nordstrom & Target. They don’t call it “retail therapy” for nothing, getting a good deal is a high in and of itself and will instantly perk up your spirits!
- Plan for the Year to Come. I love a good planning session. At the end of each year I like to sit down and view my goals from the year prior, then make new ones to accomplish in the year to come. You can’t just write out a goal and expect it to happen, achieving your goals takes real planning and actionable steps. For me, writing down the steps I will take is key in actually taking them, so I sit with my planner (I actually have two this year ah) and visualize what my next year will look like and what I want to accomplish. This always helps me get in the spirit of the New Year and feel empowered to achieve my dreams!
- Spa Day at Home. While we all want to do the most that we can in the short periods of vacation time we have around the holidays, it’s also important to take some of that time for self-care and preservation. I love taking just a few hours one evening to prepare myself for bed. Soaking in the tub with a bath bomb, exfoliating & moisturizing my skin, putting on the cute PJ’s with matching slippers and doing a great cleansing mask is a great way to really give yourself that extra treat at the end of a fun, yet hectic vacation and a great way to rejuvenate you!
I’m really excited for what I’ve got planned for 2018 and I hope you’re just as excited to get the most out of the next year to come! Be sure to remember to take time for yourself-even if its just a few minutes a day- this year to really fulfill your mind and spirit this year!
