Christmas Eve is in 2 days and Christmas is just 3 days away! I am sooo excited. My Mom’s side of the family all gets together on Christmas Eve for food and a fun White Elephant game and then I’ll be hosting Christmas at my place with my family AND Jame’s family this year! My first year ever hosting Christmas and I am ECSTATIC.
Seriously ever since I was little I just wanted to be Martha Stewart and I feel like I really shine and am in my element when I put on at-home gatherings. One of my main things I learned early on, was that you need an outfit prepped AHEAD of time when you’re hosting. Which is why I’ve made sure to make a list of outfit ideas and check them twice before the big day!
Here are some great holiday attire ideas that you may or may not already have in your closet!
Red Skirt & Christmas Plaid: Super easy and so versatile. Honestly a red skirt is a great staple piece for any wardrobe, and pairing it with the plaid makes it look festive and really fun without spending a ton. This top was only $15 at Old Navy and I snagged this skirt for $45 which is so worth it bc the quality and fullness even without a crinoline is phenomenal, not to mention it has pockets!
Green Skirt & Stripes: Another great functional, festive and versatile outfit. This green velvet skirt was seriously only $14 and it fits so perfectly! I love pairing this one specifically with bodysuits, just because of the high-waist fit of the skirt. I feel the bodysuit pairing accentuates a small waist. Add a gold belt if you want to jazz it up a little- or even a statement necklace if the neckline on your striped top is fitting of a bold necklace. This bodysuit is $11 which means this outfit (top & skirt COMBINED) is less than $30! PTL! <3
Texture on Texture: If you’re a little more fashion forward like myself, go big or go home! I layered black sheer tights with these adorable black velvet shorts from Express, then also popped on my favorite badass boots, and new red varsity sweater for a really edgy holiday look. If it’s super chilly in your neck of the woods- adding another texture like a leather/fur collar moto jacket is the way to go to keep warm! Luxe textures really sum up the fashion season of winter for me, so this is such a fun outfit- and the best part is this whole outfit doesn’t scream Christmas, so you’ll be able to mix and match these pieces in your wardrobe for SO many other occasions. I’ll definitely be pairing these shorts with a sequin top for NYE!
I am so excited that Christmas is almost here! Are you ready?! What are you wearing?!
