Being a Florida native, I don’t deal with cold weather really well. Like honestly I am really enjoying the chance to dress in warmer clothing, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t get to do it very often. Layering has been so much fun for me over the past few weeks as the weather has been cooler. I’ve gotten a couple staple pieces that have proved extremely versatile for the cold weather we’ve been having.
I paired these three staples all together for the easiest and comfiest cold weather look, however you can wear them in so many different ways throughout the cooler seasons that they become a great year round investment that you can come back to over and over.
- Faux Leather Leggings. I love being able to wear these so much with oversized sweaters, over the knee boots, and so many other winter accessories, but for this look, paired with a tunic sweater and chambray shirt worked well.
- Oversized Cream Sweater. This color is the perfect contrast to most bottoms for the winter months, it basically goes with EVERYTHING, so you’ll be able to layer it over skirts, jeans, flannels, and it’s got enough give, that you can pop a coat over the top of it if it’s SUPER chilly where you are.
- Velvet Accessories. Velvet is such a warm and inviting texture it’s the perfect finishing touch to any outfit in the cooler months. I love this Henri Bendel blue velvet cross body bag so much, it’s the perfect size for your credit cards, cell phone and a touch up gloss to run out the door with! Very easy and this great deep blue color matches such a great variety of things. I also have been using velvet head wraps and outerwear as other accessories that keep you warm while looking cool.
This outfit was so fun and so easy for a day out with the boys. The leggings and super soft sweater kept me so warm and were so easy to run around in! Comfort is key I’ve learned when dressing in warm clothes!
