This year I’m all about manifesting the life I want and having a plan to make that life mine. Admittedly, I’m basically the MOST type B person there is. I go with the flow so much sometimes I forget where the flow was supposed to be taking me in the first place and that can be an issue when you actually need to get some shit done.
I got 2 planners for Christmas this year and they are both so uniquely different that I decided I should keep and actively use both. James keeps saying we have to be as motivated on day 219 as we are on day 1, and keeping your plan going is crucial in achieving any goals you have for yourself.
My mother got me this adorable Kate Spade 17 month planner that came with these ADORABLE stickers and a pocket in the front and the cute Kate Spade colorful details really just scream “Me” to me. So I plan on using this for blog work, events, and a regular calendar. This will be great to tag along in my purse, or keep in my car to be sure anything that comes up while I’m out and about can be written down. Honestly if I don’t write something down, I don’t remember it AT ALL.
My favorite gift this year, was this Nicole Laporte Desire Map Planner. TBH I can get so down on myself and bc I don’t necessarily have a 9-5 job, can easily lose days when it comes to my diet/exercise/blog work routine, I need some more stability. While I do enjoy having a flexible schedule, it’s important to me that I focus on my goals, and am reminded of them daily.
This planner gives me daily prompts like “What Will I do Today to Feel the Way I Want to Feel?”. My Type B self LOVES that the focus is more on my emotional well being than it is on scheduling out your day. For all you other Type B’s out there, we know that there’s a HUGE difference between Planning & Scheduling, and I’m not really interested in scheduling out my life.
Planning for the life I want to live, for the things I want to accomplish, and the dreams I have takes about 10-15 minutes out of everyday for me. I’ll sit down at night before bed and write out the things I want to achieve the next day. Then when I wake up, I’ll go back over them and write down my daily gratefulness & some positive mantras to get me through the stressful parts and get a clear focus on how I want to live out the day.
Until I met James I always had goals and never wrote them down, I just knew what they were bc honestly I didn’t have THAT many goals. James was super into The Secret and totally got me into “Manifesting your Destiny”, since then every year I’ve written down reasonable goals. You know, goals that are somewhat easy to achieve and that I know I’ll be able to knock out. While I’ve met each of the goals I’ve ever written down for myself, I haven’t ever pushed myself with my goals. I’ve never set something down that I doubted my ability to achieve or that I thought wouldn’t be achievable. I’ve always been very realistic, but this year, I want to push myself harder. This is my 6th year of blogging and it’s time for me to really really step up my earnings as well as reach. It’s also the 3rd year in a row that I’ve started the year heavier than I wanted to be physically and let me tell you- it’s the last.
While I don’t have “New Year’s Resolutions” per say, the goals are great for taking my life where I want it to go, and planning for those goals is the ONLY way they’re gunna happen. I couldn’t just write down “lose 50lbs” and expect it to happen, I need to put in my planner a daily exercise and fitness routine to make sure that it happens. Breaking down your goals into actionable steps will ultimately be the best way to achieve anything and I’m super excited to be 9 days into my plan for my best life.
