Staple Series: A Crisp White Top

Since I recently started purchasing quality over quantity, I’ve been filling my closet slowly but surely with lots of staple pieces that honestly should have been up in there years before. One of my more favorite recent staples has been this crisp white shirt. A white shirt can do so many different things for your wardrobe, and is sure to be an easy go-to for you on days where you’re not sure what to wear.

I picked this polka dot poplin detail white linen shirt at the Loft outlet, and unfortunately it’s not linkable, but I am going to share with you some similar fits, styles, and price ranges at the bottom of this post.

The great thing about this white top, is that it adds the perfect amount of contrast when paired with any kind of denim. I wore it with light wash denim shorts and it looked so cute, casual, and beachy for the summer.

Pairing it with a mid-rinse distressed denim and some strappy heeled Steve Madden sandals was a great way to dress it up and look polished but still casual while I was at BlogHer. The way this top fits, makes it great to also tuck in with skirts, so it’s a really versatile piece.

When picking out a white top, aside from fit, I think the most important aspect is to make sure your white is REALLY WHITE. A bright white will reflect all the colors and make you look fantastic, while whites with too much yellow will come off cream, and whites with too much blue can look gray and dingy long term. This white is super bright, so I know the color will hold up really well over time.

Huge thanks to Nikki of The Fashionable Accountant for all these amazing photos! I’ll be updating this staple series with all my favorite must-haves, really excited to share with you my wardrobe loves!
