Lovely Lavender

I’m going to be 100% honest. I have never liked the color Purple, no I’m not talking about the amazing Oprah movie either, I’m talking about the physical color. I’ve used a ton of plum eye liners and shadows to make my green eyes pop. But I’ve never owned an article of clothing in this shade because, well, I hate it. Until now. I found this lavender dress at Forever 21 and it fits SO well!

The shade is just the right amount of pastel mixed with vibrancy to it’s not so springy, and just right for the spring/summer transition. The dress hangs so naturally lightly off the shoulders, which is great for me because with most of my OTS pieces I do end up fighting to keep the arms in place for a good portion of the day.

Not with this dress though! For a lunch out with my mom, brother, and Cash, I dress it a little more laid back with bush perforated lace-up flats. It came with this amazing little fabric belt to cinch in my waist for a really flattering fit.

Accessory wise, I wore some great white beaded dangles, making the look a little more elevated with curls in my hair for the nicer restuarant we were dining at. I also threw on my 3 Bourbon & Bowties bracelets, because they just look great with everything, and the “State of Mind” Kate Spade pendant I haven’t taken off since Mother’s Day.

I love that this dress has a great amout of versatility. To dress it up a little more for a brunch out, I’d pair this exact look with wedges instead. To dress it down for running errands or just getting out of the house for a coffee run, I’d simply throw on a denim jacket, some white sneakers, and a messy bun.

This dress definitely opened my eyes to the gorgeousness that is the color purple, and how great it looks on every skin tone. PS- it totally did make my green eyes POP! <3

OTS + Cotton + Stripes.

OTS (off the shoulder) tops are SO my absolute favorite trend right now. I love that I can show off a little collar bone, and still keep my chubby little arms hidden under some sleeves. I also love that all OTS tops regardless of material, print, or color look so chic and fashion forward.

When you mix the trendiness of an OTS top, with classic black and white stripes AND comfortable stretchy cotton, it creates a year round staple you’ll be rocking for the entirety of 2017 and possibly even 2018. When I found this one for $19 at Target I was SO excited and had to purchase it.

The length on this top makes it look amazing paired with any color of denim, but it’s also sleek enough to tuck into any high-waisted skirt you may have for a dressier occasion.

While I’m planning many more looks over the next few months with this top, I decided to keep it more laid back in this look with distressed mid-wash skinny jeans, braided detail boots, and a bold lip.

I like to keep my accessories pretty simple these days, and this Kendra Scott Tassel necklace literally matches everything I own, and helps elevate looks to a more polished level, when I want to look put-together without trying too hard. My bourbon & bowties bracelets were the perfect addition to my wrist to bring out a little personality with the simple options.

Lately I’ve also been really into this “ear crawler” style of earrings. They have all the simplicity of a stud and look great with anything from tee shirts to full on cocktail dresses. Since I’m all about an ear party too, I added my lightening bolt stud in my lower cartilage to make the accessories just a little more 90’s throwback.

Finishing this outfit off with some awesome boots, that I probably am wearing out (ha ha) was a great choice to run after the kids in. This is also one of my favorite ways to wear my hair. Throw half of it up on the top of your head, and BAM! you’re stylish while only spending 3 minutes doing your hair!

I linked my lip color in this post too, because I had a TON of questions about it on Insta, it’s a great dark color option for the spring/summer month’s because it’s not TOO deep of a color.

Off-the-Shoulder

Target off-the-shoulder top

One of this Summer’s hottest trends has got to be wearing everything off-the-shoulder. You can find rompers, tops, dresses and even swimsuits sporting this fabulous trend. While I have never been much for “trends” I can not help but love this seasons style and have definitely picked up a few pieces that fall off-the-shoulder.

One of my favorite new pieces is this top from Target. It looks great with shorts or jeans and is perfectly loose enough to easily nurse in on top of being super cute. I love the embroidered navy detail on this top, which pairs perfectly with these great high-waisted shorts I picked up at Target as well!

While I’m still not at my pre-pregnancy weight quite yet, I still think it’s important to have things that look great and boost my confidence while I continue to get back into the clothes that once fit perfectly. The pieces that I’m getting now will still look great as I lose the weight, so I don’t have any qualms about spending money on clothes that aren’t my typical size.
