Nordstrom Sale Picks Under $100

Last week I posted my favs from each category under $50 that are part of the amazing Nordstrom sale. Today I’ll share with you my favorite picks that are under $100 in each category. Keep in mind that in sharing these selections, you’ll see the heaviest amount of shoes, bags, and dresses.

I’m all about affordable fashion and I don’t really think a pair of pants or a top that is over $50 is a great deal, but you will see a few here and there, and that’s based on the designer. In other words, these are great deals because they are normally WELL above $200, not necessarily because they are the best sale price.

I want to start with dresses, because last week I forgot to include any dresses in the under $50 post, so here you’ll find all the dresses I love from the sale that are under $100 and some steals under $50 too!

I’m going to lump tops and bottoms into the same category this time since their lists were rather extensive in the under $50 post. Again, this is mainly on the designer aspect of the sale.

I’m going to have a good amount of picks here in shoes because while I don’t buy good shoes often, I’ve learned that investing a little money into a good pair of kicks is so much better than having a lot of cheap shoes. For starters: they last longer, they styles stay on trend throughout seasonal changes, and my more “expensive” shoes are actually the most comfortable ones to wear, so a good shoe under $100 I think is a great deal.

As far as accessories go, I don’t really care to spend over $50 for hats, scarfs, or costume jewelry. But finding a GOOD designer handbag under $100?! That’s a steal! Here’s some great bags, with amazing quality, all under a hundred bucks.

I’ll end this post with the shortest of the categories for Under $100. A combination of beauty, accessories, tech, and my favorite of all: Sunglasses!!!

Check back next week for my final post: the best designer deals under $250!

Happy 1st Day of Spring!

Spring is finally officially here! Not that it matters much in Florida where we pretty much just alternate from hot to less hot, but for fashion it’s a wonderful time! I get so tired and worn out looking at drab winter colors for months at at time that when spring arrives in stores I can’t help but want to buy everything. To celebrate the first day of spring today I put together my favorite new look which works well both for short girls and pregnant women alike, and NONE of the items I purchased were Petite or Maternity!

High-waisted shorts are a great way to elongate a shorter leg, and picking colors that contrast highly with your skin tone can help you appear thinner as well! I grabbed these Cuffed Linen Shorts from Old Navy in blush and a great olive for the spring. These will last throughout the end of my pregnancy too thanks to the drawstring/elastic waist band, which gives me lots of extra room to grow while still looking great!

To keep things bright and cozy I opted for a great Pleated Cocoon Top also at Old Navy. This shirt is slightly oversized making it really comfortable and breezy. Tucking it into the shorts also helps elongate my short legs and torso in the most flattering way, but it’s also long enough that it will pair nicely with a pair of jeans later on.  I love how perfectly the colors in the floral pattern compliment the blush color of the shorts.

I kept the accessories light today since that pattern of my shirt is so bold. I just completed my look with the Reese Bar Pendant from Charming Charlie and brown Lavina Slide Sandals from Target.

Now I’m ready to go smell the roses! If you’re interested in any of these pieces you can pick them up here on ShopStyle.

I’m new to this, so don’t be too harsh on me. I attended a blogging conference back in February that instructed all bloggers to get on Youtube and start making videos. Being the procrastinator I am at times, I’m just now starting a weekly video series entitled: “What I bought at Target.”  Come along for a joyous sarcastic ride filled with wonders of the one spot and more…

#whatiboughtattarget Video

I’ll be posting these confessionals every week, so hopefully my editing skills will become more than sub-par here soon. For now I present to you the first edition of my series! After the video be sure to scroll to check out more up close shots of the awesome fall decor I couldn’t live without this week!

Weekend Western Wear (AGAIN!)

Today will be such a fun day! While the weather is chillier I have plans to go shopping with my wonderful Grandmother! Cash and I will be meeting up with her in the mid-morning for shopping, followed by lunch! I can’t wait! My Grandmother is such a fun and wonderful person to hang out with! And she happens to also be who I take after shopping wise! The last time I was at her house I stayed the night, and went to hang some clothes in the closet in her spare room. Much to my surprise I found an entire closet full of goodies she had purchased and hadn’t even worn yet! I love that I’m not the only person who buys something and just can’t wear it til “the right occasion”.

That’s exactly how I felt about this breezy dress I found at CottonOn a few weeks ago, like yea it looks good no matter what and can be dressed up or down, but I wanted the RIGHT moment for this dress and today is that day! Nothing more special than a date day with Grams to break out a new dress in!

Since it’s been much more on the cooler side (highs of only 62 today!) I threw this awesome lace-sleeve great sweater from The Limited over the dress, and paired it with maroon tights from Target, and my cowgirl boots were the perfect shoe for the outfit!

I LOVE this necklace I got from Francesca’s Collections over the holidays and have been DYING to wear it too! If I’m breaking out the new dress I may as well complete the look with a new necklace!

This outfit is so fun, warm, and comfortable! I love how cute I still feel, while totally being able to keep up with Grandma and her power shopping while pushing Cash around all day!

Last Minute Gift Ideas for the Family!

I received these products complimentary for review purposes, the opinions stated are honest, unbiased and provided without compensation.

I’m notoriously always shopping on Christmas Eve, it’s not that I actually wait until the very last second to buy gifts, it’s just that I really like shopping. Christmas being the season of giving only helps my shopping addiction, so I usually spend the entire week before Christmas at one store or another! This year, I’ve started online shopping and it’s so convenient, I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before! No matter what way you shop be sure to check out some of these awesome gifts for the whole family, if you are shopping online be sure to place your orders this week to make sure they arrive by Christmas!

Stocking Stuffers

For myself and the other ladies in my family I really love Burt’s Bees lip care for stocking stuffers. Made from all natural ingredients, Burt’s Bees is a great way to treat your lips the right way and prevent wintery chapped lips! Now they make chubby sticks, and even glosses, sure to please any lady in your life!

Bob Sima’s new album putalittlemoreloveintheworld is a nice relaxing CD for the more conservative music listener this Christmas. A great stocking stuffer for Mom or Dad, the music is calming, and easy to unwind to!

I love curling my hair during the holidays, much like every other woman, however I often end up burning my ear or finger with the curling wand, which is why these ScarAway Silcone daily discs are perfect as a stocking stuffer this year! The advanced technology in these silicone discs gets rid of scars super fast and relieves the pain from a burn!

Men won’t ever admit to it, but they don’t like getting zits or wrinkles either, which makes this personalized “The Man” skin care set from Trusted Health Products super awesome! Stuff his stocking with skin care this year, so he’ll continue to look as handsome next year!

Staying healthy is really important to me and my family, which makes Herbtheory’s Weight Management supplements a MUST when it comes to stocking stuffers! These all natural vitamin enriched supplements are caffeine free, non-gmo, and free of artificial dyes/flavors making them a great alternative to chocolate in your stocking!

I love giving back, and I think when you have an opportunity to give and give back at the same time it’s a win-win, which is why the World Vision gift catalog is a great choice in ordering gifts this holiday season. They give you gift choices for incriminated donations to their cause. This necklace is hand-crafted in Indonesia, and with an $85 donation you get the necklace AND provide a family with 15 fruit trees to feed them for a lifetime.

I often times give humorous gifts, especially at holiday White Elephant gift exchanges, and I LOVE purchasing Knock Knock products to make the holidays even more merry! This company is filled with sarcastic post-it’s, journals, and even coffee cups now! I know my BFF Haley will get a kick out of this “100 Reasons to panic about being a cat lady” book! And this I need to Unplug journal will make a spectacular gift for an upcoming gift exchange party!

Supporting local small business’ is very important to me, so when I came across Hartford Prints online I knew I had to pick up some of their awesome goodies for Christmas. They carry wall art, onsies and even adult clothing, but I love their unique hand-pressed Christmas cards and one-of-a-kind gift tags the most! Fleas Navidad!

Cash and I read a story every single day, at least one. It’s so fun for me when he gets so excited he points to characters in the book and tries to turn the pages himself. For Christmas, he’s getting these awesome books: ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas on Sesame Street and Santa is coming to My House! These will be the present he opens on Christmas Eve, so we can read these stories before he dreams of sugarplum fairies and awaits Santa’s arrival this year!

Gifting this year wouldn’t be complete without getting my nieces something super adorable. I found Pretty Bowtique on Instagram and quickly became a fan. Barefoot sandals, Shabby Chic Bows, and Knotted Headbands all featuring the coolest fabrics are going to make me the best Aunt ever this year!

There you have it, gifts for the whole family! Be sure if you’re online ordering you get those orders in by tomorrow to ensure delivery by Christmas!!!!

Merry & Bright,

It’s only Rock’n’Roll but it feels like love – Grit & Grace

While I was on my trip to North Carolina I had the WONDERFUL pleasure of meeting with Angela Marie DeVincentis, owner of the cutest boutique Grit and Grace. This store, this woman, they’re what’s up. A former Durham police officer, DeVincentis had been making soap on the side and selling it at local flea markets for about 15 years, 4 years ago she started wholesaling her soaps, and from there her business started to bloom. She started working on handcrafting/hammering/and welding wall art and really awesome one-of-a-kind jewelry in her woodshed and presented her work in Art Shows, with children and a full time gig, she was working on 2 hours of sleep for a long time, when it just made sense to take a leap. 1 year ago she made the jump and opened her storefront in downtown Mebane, NC with a photography studio above her, and recently she just moved to her own location a few steps down Clay Street.

Angela, store owner, being all badass and adorable at the same damn time.
Angela, store owner, being all badass and adorable at the same damn time.

Walking into the boutique you automatically just want to own EVERYTHING. Her handmade license plate signs, bent spoon stamped bracelets, and custom designed tee shirts. Her shirt designer, Todd Johnson, has a personality all his own, and such an awesomely positive outlook on the possibilities that lie in the world that really reflect in his designs. Angela’s process for giving him designs, “I tell him I want these words and I want it to look good, and without fail he makes it happen.” Looking at the shirts it’s obvious her designer has talent, since there literally is not one that I don’t need for my life right now. Being that my son is named after Johnny Cash, I’m in complete LOVE with these pieces below!

I always try to shop local when and where I can, and thanks to the internet you don’t need to live in a small town to get these awesome products. She has an online presence and items are available for ordering through Grit and Grace’s Facebook page. You can also email Angela for custom orders for tee shirts, wall art and jewelry! When I asked Angela what advice she’d give to young entrepreneurs she said “Don’t Stop. You’re gonna screw up, no matter how prepared you think you are, take the mistakes, learn from them and grow, but don’t ever stop.” Wise words from a wise woman, I may have a slight girl crush on this talented lady. “We want to raise standards, you don’t just have to throw on something with a famous label to be stylish and cool, you can own who you are and we want our product to celebrate uniqueness and individuality.”  You succeed, for sure, you really do Angela. With items that not only reflect a sense of wit and sarcasm that almost everyone can appreciate, this store is truly a gem, and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to sit down with such a talented woman!

I got my own Mebane shirt (I graduated high school in this tiny town) and pretty soon we’ll be giving away this awesome crafted by Angela bracelet!

Go check out Grit&Grace, and fall in love with small town business’ all over again!

Grit&Grace (this one was kind of obvious guys),
