Ever notice how shoes can just completely change up an outfit? I’ve recently gotten super into sneakers, and let me tell you, my casual side is really enjoying these comfy kicks. Sneakers are no longer just for a sporty look. Summer’s trend of white leather sneakers means you can look adorable in a day dress, and stay comfortable walking!
I found these perforated white leather Sam Edelman sneakers on such a good sale at TJ Maxx I had to get them! They go really well with sundresses, skirts, and jean outfits, so I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of them.
I love how easy this sporty summer look was to put together! I got this grey and white striped tee from Target and love how laid back and comfy it is. To polish the look up a bit, I tucked the tee into a slate blue high waist skirt from LOFT. I basically wear my gold arrowhead necklace everyday of my life, because it’s just that piece that I love to wear all the time, so adding it as the finishing touch to this ensemble seemed appropriate.
The Sam Edelman kicks were the perfect way to run out the door looking cute & casual. This is a perfect outfit for a daytime shopping trip or errands run. Making sure you look put together enough to walk into Target, but cool enough that you “don’t really care”. TJ Maxx isn’t the only place to score some major great white sneak ideas for Summer though! Check out my outfit details and some other really adorable white kicks options below!
I’ve found that one of the most flattering sundress styles is the midi length sundress. It’s such a perfect length for Summer, and if you select your midi in a lightweight fabric, the dress actually keeps you super cool.
Since I’m short, I always like to pair my midi sundresses with an open toed shoe to elongate my legs. I feel this style actually gives me a lot of length and like an optical illusion, makes me look so much taller than my 4’10” frame.
I paired this amazing baby blue cotton sundress from the Loft Outlet (ps it has pockets!!!) with my go-to Spring/Summer Marc Fisher espadrilles. Wearing a tan shoe also helps to make your legs look leaner and longer, and heels always give you the best posture, so I love how flattering (and easy to walk in) these are.
Accessory wise I wanted to keep things simple and let the dress speak for itself. I threw on my Bourbon & Bowties bangles along with the FL Kate Spade necklace and I was done!
I’ve been carrying this Henri Bendel Crosby crossbody since James got it for me for Mother’s Day and the Sea Salt color goes with everything! It’s got a great amount of room in it for a lipgloss, cash, keys, cellphone and sunnies, so it’s the perfect size for a small bag without being toooo tiny.
What I love about this whole look is that I could easily take this outfit from day to night by added a cropped moto-jacket and dark lips.
While this actual sundress is sold out currently. I’ve linked some of my absolute FAVORITE midi sundress options for under $50 as well as the rest of my outfit details below.
Have you tried the midi length sundress yet?
I think it’s a running joke amongst all Moms that we have a basic “uniform”. For each mom that uniform is different, some are constantly in gym clothes, yoga pants, or jeans and tee shirts, but for me, it’s ever-so-slightly different.
My mom uniform consists of 4 essential pieces that can be mixed and matched all day every day for a comfortable yet stylish look.
I start with a high-waist (preferably elastic waist too 😉 ) patterned skirt, add a fun graphic tee, top it off with a cardigan or some kind of lightweight outerwear, and finish it off with my white converse.
Easy, right? Not only is it super easy to put together, but it always looks casually cute and laid back, and not to mention that it’s such a comfortable look! I can easily run after the boys, go on a Target run, and then cook dinner later on, without feeling like I need to change my clothes.
Everything is always machine washable so I’m not fretting about getting anything “dirty” if the boys and I decide to break out the arts and crafts either!
Two of my go-to skirts for my uniform are a navy and white polka dot skirt, and a black bright floral patterned wrap skirt. My favorite tee is hands down McConaughey, because well, McConaughey (que the alright alright alright here).
What’s your “Mom Uniform”?
Nothing says spring like a floral dress right? Wanna double the spring-i-ness of the look? Make it a yellow floral dress. I didn’t think with blonde hair I’d be able to pull of yellow, but this particular color is just the right shade. It’s not too “mustard” and not too pale, making it the perfect shade for my blonde not to blend in.
James bought me these Marc Fisher wedges for my birthday and I have been in LOVE with them ever since. They are so easy to walk in, and give me just the right amount of extra height. I love that the carmel color goes so well with everything, and small perforated details on the top make them super on-trend for 2017.
This dress really makes a statement and the material is so light, that I didn’t want my accessories to overpower the outfit, so I finished this look with my Kendra Scott Tassel necklace, and Bourbon & Bowties bangles.
If you’re looking for cute brunch attire ideas this is a great one. Especially with Mother’s Day coming up this weekend. The fitted top accentuates my bust and smaller waist, and the pleats underneath the bust give me plenty of room for pancakes.
This outfit feels so perfect for the Spring to Summer transition. What do you think?
It’s no secret that I’ve been wanting to take part of the hipster music festival in California’s desert Coachella. Since I haven’t been able to go yet, I celebrate #nochella where I simply just listen to good music on my iPhone & dress like a hippie. It doesn’t matter if you’re a young 20-something or a mom balancing your own unique style with managing a house full of munchkins, #nochella festival attire comes in many designs and can easily be pieced together when you’re feeling like a free spirit.
I tucked a really breezy blush cotton swing tee in with an amazing high-low floral skirt and felt all the 70’s vibes. The ruffle along the bottom of the skirt, as well as the drawstring tassel details at the top of it, really bring current trends into play with the classic late 60’s/early 70’s style, giving it a great modern vintage feel.
Accessory wise I grabbed these round Prada sunnies, I’ve had them for about a year now and they fit so perfectly with the vintage feel of this outfit. I’ve also been wearing these amazing gold ear crawlers for the past month with basically everything. I love that they look really simple, but have the stunning capability of matching any kind of outfit’s style/vibe.
My brown leather choker was made by my favorite local jeweler, Simple & Pretty Jewelry. If there’s any company that embodies the true minimalist/adventurer lifestyle, it’s this one. Mandy created this company after her grandfather died, she was so inspired by the memories he created and the simple way he lived his life free of clutter and “stuff”, so she created this amazing company to provide simple accessories at everyday prices, so you can afford to create experiences and still look good while traveling.
I finished off the look with a few B&B bangles and some great canary lace up espadrille wedges from my March Shoedazzle credit. (For those of you interested you can get 75% off your first ShoeDazzle purchase with this link here.) I love how having a ShoeDazzle membership has enabled me to get out of my shoe comfort zone and really experiment with fun colors and shoe designs.
Have you been to Coachella yet?
Since getting back from our road trip last week, it occurred to me that I haven’t written about how I dress for road trips in a while. So I decided to put together just a quick little post on how I go about making a decision this crucial.
For starters we all know the most important part of road trip rags is that they need to be comfortable above all else. For me, sitting in skin tight skinny jeans is NOT comfortable for 4-8 hours at all so I always opt for either leggings or a lightweight cotton dress. Just depends on how I feel when I wake up that morning to be honest.
On our trip to Savannah, I was in more of a leggings mood, so I picked these pleather finished ones, they look a little more jazzed up, but are still mostly made of cotton, with tons of stretch, making them the perfect road trip bottom.
I paired my leggings with a comfortable and hilarious screen tee. I showed you all some of my favorite screen tee looks a few weeks back in this post, and while my Grandmother is probably cringing, yes I actually BOUGHT this shirt from Target with the hole in it. I just love the distressed cotton look right now and it the “Not My Problem” graphic was so perfect for highway vibes. Oh you don’t like the music I’m picking? Not my problem, boo. haha
My hair never really makes it through a road trip for some reason. Car air conditioning just isn’t my BFF, even though I am forever thankful for it. So I threw on a hat and finished the look with a slouchy black sweater (cause you know sometimes you gotta keep it a little colder in the car than it really needs to be) and my running shoes to match the athleisure aesthetic the hat added to the look.
What’s your go-to road trip outfit?
While it may seem unseasonable to most, Spring is basically here in Florida and I could not be more ecstatic. The weather here is nice a breezy daily, and warm-but not too hot. Last weekend the Hello Kitty Cafe stopped by International Plaza and I HAD to wear this new floral skirt I got for the sweet treat adventure.
This skirt is great. (similar) The elastic waistband allows movement and stretch, so I can continue to wear it comfortably as I start to shed this extra baby weight that’s been hanging around my mid-section. To keep the skirt more casual for a trip to the mall, I paired it with a simple white tank top and a structured mid-rinse denim jacket.
I finished off the look with these adorable lace-up ballet flats, so I could easily shop around the mall when I was finished waiting in line for the Hello Kitty Cafe.
For those unfamiliar with the Hello Kitty Cafe, let me divulge. The Hello Kitty Cafe is a food truck painted in pink and serving up treats every little girl (and grown woman) dreams of. I grabbed a 4 pack of petit fours cakes that were adorably decorated Sanrio style. The cafe also offered: Mini Bow Cookies and Rainbow Macaroons which were hard to pass up, but I stayed good to my one cheat.
My outfit matched the truck perfectly as you can see, and I had such an awesome time. Everyone in line at the truck was in a great mood, ready to experience something cool, original, and super fun. Me and Brando made friends with the three guys behind us in line and all laughed and talked about what we’d be purchasing.
The petit fours tasted just as amazing as they looked, and I know for sure next time the Hello Kitty Cafe comes to town, I’ll totally be matching in pink again, and be grabbing those macaroons too! <3

We don’t get much of a winter in Florida. To be honest, I spend half the year complaining it’s too hot, pining, as I scroll my Instagram & Pinterest feeds, for “sweater weather”. And every January/February I get my wish granted with a week and a half of winter weather which reminds me of exactly why I’m a Floridian.
I do have a winter wardrobe. I’ve collected staple items for cooler weather here and there over the years and since I don’t wear them often, they stay in really good condition.
I’ve had this faux fur vest from Target since 2014! It’s held up great over the past 3 years, and I’ll be wearing it for years to come I’m sure. For this outfit, I paired the fur vest with a mid-length sweater dress. This sweater dress is from The Limited circa 2015, and is made from super warm and soft Merino Wool.
To finish off the look I added tan booties (a FAV of mine), and this awesome antiquated gold and cobalt blue geometric statement necklace.
While I won’t get to wear this exact outfit for another year I’m sure, it was so much fun and perfectly warm on a chilly day.
While I love being a mother, it’s important to my husband and I to make sure we have time for ourselves. Thankfully we have a wonderful family that lives close by and is more than happy to take the boys off our hands for a couple of hours at a time. This time away from the kids helps us reconnect and come back more rejuvenated as parents so we are able to take better care of our babies. Our first date night away was kind of spur of the moment, but our second planned date night was more intimate and much more appreciated.
I want to remind myself, and my husband that not only am I a fantastic mother, I’m also a great personal stylist and know how to dress myself really well. Being that I’m 5 weeks post-pardum my body isn’t quite what it used to be yet, which is why I love this dress from Pink Blush. While it is labeled “maternity” it gives me the room I need to feel confident after the baby. This bell-sleeved dress is fabulously on trend for the summer’s 70’s inspired fashion, and I love how it moves with my body!
I felt so sexy and confident wearing this out and my husband kept telling me how hot I looked! To me it doesn’t necessarily matter what the label says, as long as you look and feel your best who cares if you’re still wearing maternity clothes after the baby? Who cares what number your post-baby size is? It doesn’t matter as long as you know you’re owning what you’re wearing. If what you wear can remind you that you are more than a mother, you are still that sexy confident individual that your SO fell in love with. You are still YOU.
Pink Blush also offers several amazing styles in non-maternity outfitting as well, and I’ve teamed up with them to give you the opportunity to win a $50 shop credit to their online boutique! Click the link below to enter in this fabulous giveaway!

Lace & Love,
One of this Summer’s hottest trends has got to be wearing everything off-the-shoulder. You can find rompers, tops, dresses and even swimsuits sporting this fabulous trend. While I have never been much for “trends” I can not help but love this seasons style and have definitely picked up a few pieces that fall off-the-shoulder.
One of my favorite new pieces is this top from Target. It looks great with shorts or jeans and is perfectly loose enough to easily nurse in on top of being super cute. I love the embroidered navy detail on this top, which pairs perfectly with these great high-waisted shorts I picked up at Target as well!
While I’m still not at my pre-pregnancy weight quite yet, I still think it’s important to have things that look great and boost my confidence while I continue to get back into the clothes that once fit perfectly. The pieces that I’m getting now will still look great as I lose the weight, so I don’t have any qualms about spending money on clothes that aren’t my typical size.
I love this top and this season’s trend. Do you have an off-the-shoulder obsession too?
